Questions & Answers

What is a Telehealth consultation? 
A private, secure, HIPAA-compliant virtual visit from the comfort of your home with your eye doctor.

What is essential or emergent eye care? 
Emergent or essential eye care deals with eye emergencies and other urgent eye issues such as but not limited to:
  • Eye infection, blurred vision, loss of vision, itching eyes, red eye, pink eye, scratched eye, stye, sudden vision changes, and irritation
  • Remote monitoring of conditions

What are we unable to do through Telehealth?
  • Conduct a routine eye exam
  • Perform a contact lens fitting

Will my insurance pay for the Telehealth consultation? 
Currently there is no set standard for private health insurance providers regarding Telehealth. However, given the importance of Telehealth during the COVID-19 pandemic, many providers are now covering Telehealth appointments. Prior to the consultation, we will determine if you have Telehealth coverage with your insurance. 

What happens after I request a Telehealth consultation? 
We will reach out to you directly to learn more about your condition and determine if Telehealth is the right step. If it is, we will collect your insurance and payment information, and set up the date and time of your Telehealth consultation.
